Catch the Currency of GO!

Defy the wave of the current economic, political , and social climate by declaring “Who said, Money doesn’t grow on trees?” This is the motto of the groundbreaking 10 story luxury hotel which features a silkscreen of currency flow in it’s exterior glass panels called the "Glasbank".

This façade composite of ventilating masonry is combined with a glass composite of exterior and interior glazing, a low E coating and a silk screen made of retired currency from the Federal Reserves. More than 20 million notes per day of unfit currency is separated at the high-speed currency processor, where the notes are cut into confetti-like shreds and sent to a disposal area. The reflection of recycled money from the exterior glass into the interior space provides a sunshield, while providing a thematic statement.
